Whether you’re looking for a new smartphone or you’re just in the market for a new iPhone, there are plenty of options available for you. From the latest and greatest phones from the likes of Google, Apple and Samsung to the newest and hottest phones from lesser-known brands, there are tons of options out there to choose from.
Vivo X90 series
Currently, the Vivo X90 series is only available in the Chinese market. However, it is expected to expand internationally in early next year. This series will feature three models: the Vivo X90, the Vivo X90 Pro, and the Vivo X90 Pro+. They will be priced starting at CNY 3,699 (around $1,700) for the base variant. The top-end model, the Vivo X90 Pro+, will cost around CNY 4,999.
The two cheaper variants will come with a 6.78-inch display. The BOE Q9 OLED screen offers a 2800 x 1260 pixel resolution, and supports HDR10+. The display also has a 120Hz refresh rate.
Xiaomi Mi A1
Earlier this year, Xiaomi announced the launch of their new flagship, the Mi A1. As a part of the Android One program, the device is targeted at developing markets.
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch 1080p curved glass display, a 7.3mm metal body, a fingerprint scanner, and a dual-camera setup. In fact, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, which is also found in the BlackBerry KEYone, Moto Z2 Play, and other popular high-end smartphones. It has 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage.
The device is powered by a 3080mAh battery, which should give it a full day of use. In addition, it comes with a USB-C charger. It will be available for purchase from September 12th in four countries in Central and South America, ten in Africa, and 13 in Asia.
Motorola Moto G7
Originally launched one per year, Motorola has added two new models to its lineup this year. These devices have been largely designed for budget conscious consumers. They also share the same software-centric, no-frills approach that the Moto G series has been known for.
The Moto G7 has a 6.2-inch display, which is half an inch bigger than the 5.7-inch panel found in the previous iteration. It’s also thinner and uses an edge-to-edge screen.
The Moto G7 features a 12-megapixel rear camera, which has an f/1.8 aperture. The camera is capable of auto HDR, 4K video at 30 frames per second, and up to 8x digital zoom.
OnePlus 6T
OnePlus’ next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 6T, is launching today in New York. It comes with some of the best features of its predecessor, plus a few new features.
The first major change is the OnePlus 6T’s in-screen fingerprint sensor. This has been on the company’s to-do list since last year’s 5T, but the technology had yet to reach commercial viability.
The new feature works in the same way as the traditional capacitive scanner, except it’s integrated into the 6.4-inch AMOLED display. Optical in-screen fingerprint sensors are slower than their capacitive counterparts, but they can be more accurate.
Realme A1
During the first quarter of 2019, Realme will be launching a new smartphone under the A series. This new device is expected to be a budget-friendly offering that will fill the gap between the Realme C1 and the company’s flagship, the Realme U1. The device is rumored to be equipped with an AI-powered selfie camera.
This smartphone is also expected to be equipped with a waterdrop-style notch. According to a report, the upcoming device will feature an 8-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual rear camera setup. It will also be powered by the Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2. It will be available in two colour options, namely Black and Yellow.
OnePlus 7
OnePlus has become a major player in the premium smartphone market. Their phones have always been about speed and performance. With their latest device, the OnePlus 7, they have pushed the bar higher than ever.
The OnePlus 7 has an excellent display and a solid build. It feels great in the hand. It features an in-display fingerprint scanner and an excellent camera.
The OnePlus 7 has a dual rear camera and a front-facing selfie cam. The main camera has a 48MP sensor and an f/1.7 aperture. The front-facing camera has a 16MP f/2.0 lens. Both cameras feature optical image stabilization and are also equipped with night/low light mode.
Photonic crystal display
Among the many innovative technologies that are going to be introduced in upcoming smartphones, one of the most interesting ones is the photonic crystal display. These displays are reflective and can be easily tuned to produce a range of colors. The main benefit of these displays is that they are very high performance, are less power-consuming, and offer a large range of colors. They also provide higher pixel-per-inch resolution than RGB.
The photonic crystals are made up of a spatially periodic arrangement of dielectric materials. The structure of the photonic crystals is similar to the crystallographic structure of an electron. The operating principles of a photonic crystal are similar to those of a semiconductor crystal.
